Welcome to the website for the British Women Writers Association Conference for 2016! Hosted at the historic University of Georgia campus, the conference will be held in beautiful Athens, GA on June 2-5, 2016.
We invite speakers on British women’s writing from the long 18th and 19th centuries. Our 2016 conference accepts papers and panels that consider any facet of the theme “Making a Scene,” including (but not limited to) those in relation to writing scenes, scenes of the mind, landscapes, political demonstrations, courtroom outbursts, and performance more generally.
The BWWC is proud to welcome participants from diverse backgrounds, including diverse gender identities. To ensure that all participants feel welcome at our conference in June, we encourage attendees to report any incidents of sexual harassment or discrimination against race, gender, and disability to Ben Hudson (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Henna Messina (email@example.com). Thank you for helping the BWWC maintain its culture of openness and mutual respect.
Questions may be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
